Autumn News
(October 23)
Greetings, I hope you had a great summer! As usual, I spent a lot of it at art festivals. I was very pleased with how well they went, especially with all of the economic uncertainty we have this year. I have now returned home from my last two shows in Dallas and Houston. Both were great shows and I enjoyed returning to these cities and seeing a lot of familiar faces. Now it is time for me to spend more time painting in the studio, and working on applications for next year’s art festivals. I have many ideas for new paintings and am looking forward to more painting time than I am able to manage during the summer season.
Meanwhile, it is really autumn here at the studio. The aspens are in the late stages of their yellow color, and we’ve had our first snowfall. I still hope to get out for some more outdoor painting, but as the temperatures drop I will have to be more selective about which days I spend standing in front of an easel outdoors. I admire those who can paint outdoors all winter…I am too much of a softie for that!
As I line up art events for 2009 I will post them on the events page of this site, so please stay tuned. Meanwhile, travel safely and have a great autumn.
