Spring News

(May 12)

Greetings…it’s almost summer and I hope you’re enjoying the almost-summer weather!

My first news is that I’m pleased to announce that one of my paintings won Best of Show at the spring Art Open at the Center for the Arts in Evergreen.  The piece is entitled “Running in Elk Meadow” and is now shown as the piece above on this home page.  The show will be up through May 22, so drop by the Center for the Arts if you get a chance.

Ellen and I just returned from a long tour of art festivals in Texas, both in Houston and in the Dallas – Fort Worth area.  We had art shows 5 out of 6 weekends and it was a fun and successful spring season.  Many thanks to all customers, family, friends and everyone else who made all possible.  We always enjoy our trips to Texas and this time got to spend some time between shows exploring the hill country and the Gulf coast.

I now have the summer art-festival season completely lined up, so please check the EVENTS page for full details.  I have 5 shows in Colorado and 3 in Chicago…all of them great events and I am looking forward to all of them.  I also have 3 paintings in the Art Open in Evergreen mentioned above, and 3 more in the Gilpin County Art Association’s 63rd annual Fine Art Exhibition in Central City, Colorado.  It will run from May 30 through August 14 at the gallery across from the Opera House in Central City.

And last but not least, with warm weather I am now out of excuses for not getting outdoors to paint.  I was out yesterday and it was great.  I’m looking forward to a summer of plein air work…I’ll post results either on this site or the blog when it seems right.

I hope to see you at one of the upcoming art shows…meanwhile have a great summer!
